The LF442 IC consists of two low power operational amplifiers with the same AC characteristics as the industry standard LM1458 while greatly improving the DC characteristics of the LM1458. The IC is constructed using the junction field effect transistor technology (JFET). The IC is always available in an 8 – pin hermetically sealed dual in line IC packaging (DIP); LF442 is pin compatible with the LM1458 allowing an immediate 10 times reduction in power drain in many applications. LF442 also offers many additional features such as high input impedance, high gain bandwidth, low power dissipation, and high noise immunity, etc.

JFET Input Operational Amplifier

JFET (Junction field effect transistor) input operational amplifier is a simple electronic configuration that boosts up a voltage of lower strength to a higher level. Operational amplifiers are usually designed to be used with external feedback components such as resistors and capacitors. JFET operational amplifiers are also an essential feature for many audio instrumentation tools such as a decibel meter (dB meter). They are also a key feature of nearly every major analog electronic testing equipment.
