LM239 Low Power Quad Comparator – Datasheet

LM239 consists of four independent precision voltage comparators with offset voltage specifications as low as 2mV. The IC has a distinct advantage over conventional comparators in terms of operating efficiency. The output of the IC always comes in TTL which makes it easy to work with other TTL devices and microcontrollers. The IC also offers a wide range of applications such as high operating speed, fan-in/fan-out capabilities, and low production cost, etc.

Voltage Comparators

A voltage comparator is a simple electronic configuration, that compares two voltages at two different levels, and then switches the output to wither LOW or HIGH state with respect to a voltage that is at a higher level then the other. In other words, a voltage comparator compares the magnitude of two voltage inputs and determines which is the largest of the two. There are two main types of voltage comparators:

  1. Non inverting Comparators
  2. Inverting Comparators
