74LS266 Exclusive NOR (XNOR) gate IC With Open Collector Outputs

The 74LS266 is consists of four independent 2-input exclusive-NOR (XNOR) gates with open-collector outputs. The open-collector outputs permit tying outputs together for multiple-bit comparisons. The 74LS266 IC output always comes in TTL which makes it easy to work with other TTL devices and microcontrollers. The IC also constitutes a wide array of features such as thermal overload protection & ESD protection. The IC 74LS251 is smaller in size and it has a much faster speed which makes it reliable in every kind of device.

What is an Exclusive NOR (XNOR) gate?

XNOR Gate is a type of digital logic gate that receives two inputs and produces one output. All inputs are treated with the same logic, responding equally to similar inputs. It is also known as an ‘Equivalence Gate’. If all inputs to the XNOR gate are 0, the gate will produce a 1. If all inputs are 1, the gate will also produce a 1. However, if any input to the gate differs from the other, the gate will output a 0.
