Introduction

In this tutorial, we will make a “TDA2050 Stereo Audio Amplifier 35W-75W”. When it comes to building a hi-fi system, it all begins with the stereo amplifier.  The amplifier is at the core of your system, converting signals from diverse sources into rich sound. There is a lot of incredible science underlying how everything in the circuit works, which we will see in this article.

In the making, we are using TDA2050, designed for usage as an audio amplifier of audio class AB. So let’s briefly understand the class AB amplifier.

The class AB amplifier is created by combining class A and B amplifiers. It is intended to overcome and remove the disadvantages of low efficiency in class A amplifiers and distortion in class B amplifiers by combining the benefits of both amplifier classes.

Working Explanation

In this TDA2050 amplifier stereo, we are providing audio input at non-inverting pin 1. Positive Voltage is given to pin 5, while negative to Pin three. Output is taken from pin 4, where the speaker is connected. There is a feedback resistor R3 which provides feedback to inverting on 2. When we apply voltage and give audio input to the circuit, the circuit amplified that signal and provides the rich output of 35W at the load.

Now for getting 70W, we have combined two 35W stereo power amplifiers.

Application Uses

  • Amplification of audio signals
  • Utilize it to cascade audio speakers
  • For high-power amplification
