An Overview of SW18010P Tilt Sensor
Sw-18010P is a non-directional vibration sensor that can be used at any angle. When a force applies, it brought to bear a vibration or a suitable velocity. It transferred the conductivity of the terminals to ON-State. The module comes with a comparator LM393 and a potentiometer to adjust, so when the vibration is below the set value of the sensor, the sensor output is in a high state, and when the vibration goes above the adjusted range, the output would be low.
Hardware Overview
The module’s hardware comprises LM393 IC, trimmer pot, and tilt sensor as their major component.
LM393 IC
They have used lM393 Comparator IC as a voltage comparator in this vibration sensor module. It connects IC’s pin 2 of LM393 to the potentiometer while connecting pin 3 to the vibration sensor. The comparator IC compares the set threshold voltage using the preset pin2 and the Vibration Sensor pin 3.
Trimmer pot
There is an onboard potentiometer, one can adjust the threshold sensitivity of the digital output using this trimmer pot.
Tilt Sensor
They made the sensor up of a small spring mechanism, which makes the contact when there is the vibration, exceeds a certain threshold. It includes two legs coming out of it. . When you apply a vibratory force on the sensor, the spring inside the switch vibrates and makes a temporary short circuit between the two terminals.
Working
When there is no shock or vibration, the output would be high. When there is a shock, the output would be low. You can directly connect the sensor to the microcontroller to detect low and high.
