Introduction

Picture a world where a beautiful melody chimes in response every time a sound is made. With a bit of creativity and some basic materials, this world can be a reality with the creation of a sound-operated music bell. The process is simple, resulting in a unique and enchanting addition to any home or office.

Think about the endless possibilities that come with a sound-operated music bell. Every time someone knocks on the door, music can play. Or, place it near a window and let the wind chime in with a melody every time it blows. The options are endless, and the result is a one-of-a-kind piece that can be tailored to suit any individual’s taste. Building your sound-operated music bell is fun, so let’s make it together with us.

Working Explanation

The circuit has the timer (NE555),  SL100, and UM66 (for the melody). The BC548B transistor is also used in this circuit and is in a biased state when running in Class C mode. The sound made every second affects pin 2 of IC timer 555. With VR1 at its highest setting, NE555 can hold on for about 30 seconds. But as per the requirement, we have to lower the value by VR1, which is done as follows: T = 1.1VR1C1.

In this case, it’s important to remember that VR1 is the resistance of the preset in the circuit. IC UM66 has 64 ROM notes played in a row and then again with a clap sound. This leads to the timer’s start button. So, the output from Pin 3 of IC NE555 is connected to the IN4001 diode and then to Pin 2 of IC UM66. As soon as S UM66 gets power, it sends out electrical waves that sound like music at the base of SL100. The 4-ohm speaker is then used to play the music that was made.

Final Words

There is no better or more entertaining way to fill your house or workplace with a sound-operated music bell circuit. The circuit uses a microphone to activate and play music whenever there is noise.
