Introduction

Are you searching for an amazing project that works on high voltages? If yes, then stay there to understand this new project because, in this tutorial, we are going to make a “Simple Mains operated LED Night Lamp”. Before making the project, please be aware that this circuit works on higher voltages, so if you have never experienced the handling of high voltages and if you are a beginner, then you must take guidance from some experienced individual. To make this circuit, we are using LEDs as the output and since there’s no step-down transformer wired into the circuitry, therefore, it may provide the higher light intensity of these LEDs at the output.

Working Explanation

This Simple mains-operated LED Night Lamp is very simple to understand. The capacitor of 220nF is connected in parallel with the resistor R1. And, both are there to step down the coming AC voltage supply. After that, there is a full-wave rectifier circuit, made of four diodes, which is simply used to convert the alternating current voltage into Direct current. Six LEDs are connected in series which is driven by this rectifier. The circuit uses the 110V to 230 input power, that’s why don,t even try to touch the input supply with your bare hands.

Application and Uses

  • In the home automation circuits.
  • In the night lamps, etc.
