An Overview of SHT71 Sensor

SHT 11 belongs to the SHT7x series of digital humidity & temperature sensors. They coupled both the humidity and temperature sensors contained to a 14-bit Analog to digital converter and a serial interface circuit. It measures humidity using a capacitive sensor while it measures the temperature using a band-gap sensor. The SHT7x devices offer fast response, great signal quality, and protection against external disturbances. SHT7x temperature and humidity have great application in the automotive industry, weather forecasting stations, medical, etc.

Hardware Overview

With a temperature and humidity sensor, the chip incorporates an amplifier, Analog to digital converter, digital interface, OTP memory. While they made the sensor of a CMOS chip, the sensor housing comprises an LCP cap with epoxy glob top on an FR-4 substrate. They made pins of a Copper/Beryllium alloy coated with Nikel and Gold.
