OP627 is fabricated on a high-speed, dielectrically isolated complementary NPN/PNP technology. The IC has a range of working conditions a wide range of working voltages, and possesses direct interfacing capability with almost every PMOS, CMOS, and NMOS device. Moreover, the IC offers a wide array of features such as high noise immunity, ESD barring/reduction, and exceptionally low power dissipation.
Precision Op-Amp
Precison amplifiers, in terms of operation are similar to normal operational amplifiers. Precision op-amps have better design specifications. They are primarily used between sensors such as strain gages, ultrasonic piezoelectric transducers, and photodetectors to capture their output signals without loading the fragile transducer output. They are also widely used in automotive industry: to monitor the myriad sensors in cars and manufacturing facilities.
For Example; a LM741 op-amp, has an offset voltage of 5mV. The offset voltage signifies the voltage that the user has to apply between the +ve and -ve of the IC, in order to get an output of 0V. On configuring the op-amp to operate at a gain of 100. The gain will not only multiply the input signal, but it will also multiply the offset voltage. This will result in the output voltage being off-value by a factor of +/-0.5V. On considering the OP177; a precision op-amp, with an offset voltage of 25uV. The same gain value of 100, would produce an error of only 2.5mV in a signal that has been amplified by a factor of 100.
