OP27GP Precision Op-Amp – Datasheet

OP27GP precision operational amplifier combines the low offset and drift of the OP07 with both high speed and low noise. The IC offers Offsets down to 25 mV and maximum drift of 0.6 mV/C. The IC possesses outstanding noise performance with excellent precision and high-speed specifications. The wideband noise is only 3nV/Hz and with the 1/f noise corner at 2.7 Hz, low noise is maintained for all low-frequency applications.

Precision Operational Amplifier

Precision amplifiers are op amps with better design specifications in terms of precision offset, zero-drift over time, lower internal noise, and input bias current. These op-amps are used in analog filters where they do not distort or DC offset the signal of interest. Their functionality and mode of use is somewhat similar to conventional op – amps; but, the output is precise, accurate, and virtually free of any kind of noise.

For Example; a LM741 op-amp, has an offset voltage of 5mV. The offset voltage signifies the voltage that the user has to apply between the +ve and -ve of the IC, in order to get an output of 0V. On configuring the op-amp to operate at a gain of 100. The gain will not only multiply the input signal, but it will also multiply the offset voltage. This will result in the output voltage being off-value by a factor of +/-0.5V. On considering the OP177; a precision op-amp, with an offset voltage of 25uV. The same gain value of 100, would produce an error of only 2.5mV in a signal that has been amplified by a factor of 100.
