This is one of the most fun and easy DIY projects in Electronics. We are going to demonstrate a Music Dancing LEDs circuit. It is an ideal project for students, electronic hobbyis,ts or those who have just started learning about circuits and want to try something interesting while learning new things.
This circuit is using 10 LEDs they will blink one by one when there is music. We are using two ICs, one is an operational amplifier IC CA3140. CA3140 is a BiMOS op-amp with MOSFET input and high voltage Bipolar transistor output. It has a high speed of performance and comes with built-in protection against short-circuiting. The other IC is a 4017 decade counter. This IC is very useful and beginner-friendly it provides 10 outputs in a circuit and we have connected one LED with each output pin of this IC.

Music Dancing LEDs Circuit
Working Explanation
This circuit is made up of two small circuits, one is a sound detector/sensor circuit and the other is the LED blinker circuit. The sound detector circuit is built around the op-amp IC. The sensitivity of sound detection is adjusted with a 10K variable resistor. When a sound signal is received through an electret microphone, it converts it into electrical signals which are amplified through CA3140 op-amp IC. The amplified output now goes to the decade counter IC in the second circuit.
The second circuit is built around a CD4017 decade counter IC, the output of the first IC is received at the clock input of this IC. Now this will activate each LED one by one according to the music or sound in sequence.
