LM124 IC consist of four independent high-gain frequency-compensated operational amplifiers that are designed specifically to operate from a single supply or split supply over a wide range of voltages. Application areas include transducer amplifiers, DC gain blocks, and all the conventional op-amp circuits which now can be more easily implemented in single power supply systems. For example, the LM124-N series can directly operate off of the standard 5-V power supply voltage.
Operational Amplifier
Operational amplifiers are simple electronic circuits that can boost a weak signal to a level of higher amplitude. An operational amplifier is generally used in applications such as home entertainment systems, megaphones, speakers, and microphones, etc. An op-amp usually operates with a number of feedback components that determine the resulting function or “operation” of the amplifier and by virtue of the different feedback, configurations whether resistive, capacitive, or both.
