In this tutorial, we will learn how to generate the Fur Elise melody using UM66 IC. It is a simple and easy project for beginners to generate various tunes and understand their functioning. By triggering this IC UM66 generates different Melody Tones. These different effects can be used in different applications like cars, toy alarms, doorbells, etc.

Working Explanation
The UM66 is a melody generator IC. It has an on-chip Rom which is responsible for Melodic tone. The most common and popular version of the UM66 IC is with piano music Fur Elise. The power consumption of this IC is very low as it uses the CMOS process.
This IC has a built-in oscillation circuit. It only requires some additional components to compact the melody module. The main block of IC is a tone generator that contains an oscillator, rhythm generator, and Rom. The tone circuit is triggered by an input signal which drives an external speaker.
Application
The project has several applications listed below:
- Cars
- Toys
- Door Bells
- Alarm
