The CD4585 belongs to the 4000 IC series. The CD4585 is a 4-bit magnitude comparator that offers the functionality of comparing two binary numbers and determining whether a relationship of less than, greater than, or equality exists between the two binary numbers. CD4585 has a wide range of working voltage, a wide range of working conditions, and directly interfaces with CMOS, NMOS, and TTL. A 4-bit magnitude comparator is a simple electronic circuit that is used to compare two binary numbers, each of 4-Bits. It consists of eight inputs each for two four bit numbers and three outputs to compare and generate results for less than, equal to, and greater than between two binary numbers. The purpose of a magnitude comparator is to compare the magnitude of a set of variables or unknown numbers.
