CA3290 IC consists of two voltage comparators on a single monolithic chip. The IC is commonly employed in applications such as sensors and transducers with extremely high source impedance. CA3290 has a wide range of working conditions, a wide array of operating voltages, and is directly interfaceable with TTL devices.

Voltage Comparator

A voltage comparator is a simple electronic configuration, that compares two voltages at two different levels, and then switches the output to wither LOW or HIGH state with respect to a voltage that is at a higher level then the other. In other words, a voltage comparator compares the magnitude of two voltage inputs and determines which is the largest of the two. There are two main types of voltage comparators:
