The CA3140 is a 4.5MHz, BiMOS Operational Amplifier with MOSFET Input/Bipolar Output that combines the advantages of high voltage PMOS transistors with high voltage bipolar transistors on a single monolithic chip. The IC has a wide range of working voltages and conditions. CA3140 is directly interfaceable with PMOS, NMOS, and TTL devices.
Operational Amplifier
An operational amplifier is a voltage amplifying device; that is designed with the intention to be used with external feedback components such as resistors and capacitors between its I/O terminals. These feedback components determine the resulting function or “operation” of the amplifier and by virtue of the different feedback, configurations whether resistive, capacitive, or both.

How To Use CA3140
The above given test circuit represents the operation of the CA3140 as an operational amplifier with an inverting input signal. In order to do this, apply a suitable Vcc and Vss at pin 7 and 4 of the IC. Also, ground the non-inverting, while simulating a suitable RC load at the output.
