Introduction

Voltage sensors are small, wireless devices that may be connected to a wide range of machinery, and equipment. When the voltage is too high, it can put other things in jeopardy, but when the voltage is too low, it can put other things in danger. When certain thresholds are reached, warnings are delivered to a central system.

Voltage sensors are low-cost equipment that can help you improve your preventive maintenance program significantly. Sensors may give a lot of data for your industry when used.  Your maintenance management team may use this data to make strategic choices regarding repairs, investments, and process improvements.

Overview of MAX471 Voltage and Current Sensor

MAX471 Current Voltage Sensor is the current and voltage sensor. Thus,   The current and voltage can be tested using this module.
When utilizing analog input voltages up to 5V, the voltage detector module’s input voltage must not exceed 5Vx5 = 25V (or 3.3Vx5 = 16.5V if using 3.3V systems). Because AVR processors have a 10-bit AD, this module mimics a resolution of 0.00489V (5V / 1023), resulting in a minimum voltage of 0.00489 Vx5 = 0.02445V for the input voltage detection module.

Applications of Voltage Sensor

Power Failure Detection

A power outage can have disastrous consequences within a surrounding. Voltage sensors can notify management if there is a drop in voltage, which might indicate a power outage.

Energy Management

These sensors can assist a facility to improve energy generation, transmission, and utilization inside a business by delivering voltage usage statistics.

Fault Detection

They can be used to locate a specific fault in a piece of equipment or an entire system.

Safety Switching

Faulty cables might put you in danger of electric shock. Voltage sensors can be linked to a safety switching system that will shut down or reroute the voltage automatically. An alarm can also be generated to indicate the broken cables.
