SIM800L GSM/GPRS module is a mini GSM modem, capable of SMS text messages, make or receive phone calls, connect to the internet through GPRS, TCP/IP, and more. The module is equipped with SIM800L GSM cellular chip from SimCom. It uses the serial communication method; therefore, it can easily interface with the UART of almost all popular microcontrollers. The module boots on the home network automatically and thus do not requires a MAX232 power module.
There is an onboard led that indicates the presence of signals. It flashes slowly when there is a signal available and flashes quickly to indicate no signal. It supports command including 3GPP TS 27.007, 27.005 and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands.
Features:
- Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900MHz
- GPRS multi-slot class 12 connectivity: max. 85.6Kbps(down-load/up-load)
- Connect onto any global GSM network with any 2G SIM
- Make and receive voice calls using a headset or an external 8 speaker and electrics microphone
- Send and receive SMS messages and GPRS data (TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.)
- Scan and receive FM radio broadcasts
- FL connectors for antennae
- Compact size: 23mm x 35mm x 5.6mm
- Micro SIM Card and Supports Real-Time Clock
- Lead-out buzzer and vibration motor control port
- AT command interface with auto baud detection
Pins Description:
PINS | DESCRIPTION |
NET | For soldering Helical Antenna provided along with the module. |
VCC | Power supply (3.4V to 4.4V). An external power source like Li-Po battery or DC-DC buck converters rated 3.7V 2A would work. |
RST(RESET) | Hard reset pin. If you absolutely got the module in a bad space, pull this pin low for 100ms to perform a hard reset. |
RxD(receiver) | Pin used for serial communication. |
TxD(transmitter) | Pin used for serial communication. |
GND | Ground pin |
RING | Acts as a Ring Indicator. It is by default high and will pulse low for 120ms when a call is received. It can also be configured to pulse when an SMS is received. |
DTR | It activates/deactivates sleep mode. Pulled HIGH (module in sleep mode) Pulled LOW (module in the wake-up mode) |
MIC+ | It is a differential microphone input. The two microphone pins can be connected directly to these pins. |
SPK+ | It is a differential speaker interface. The two pins of a speaker can be tied directly to these two pins. |
