Introduction
When we discuss the voltage regulator, we comprehend that these are the circuits that provide regulated output voltage, normally used in embedded systems. Primarily, a regulated power supply allows the output not to make any changes if the changes would be made in input signals. In easier words, you can say that the output is stable and independent of the input.
So we have decided that in this tutorial, we are going to make an “AC to DC 5V Regulated Power supply”. The circuit is easier to make and uses the voltage regulator IC for this purpose.

Working Explanation
This AC to DC 5V Regulated Power supply has the first stage of the transformer where it steps down the voltage to 12V. After that, there is a rectifier circuit that is made from 1N4001 diodes. It converts both input polarities into pulsating DC. However, it still has ripples in it which get filtered by the capacitor CP1 connected to the circuit. The output is given to the input pin of the voltage regulator IC 7805. The output is taken at the output capacitor connected with the output pin of this regulated IC.
