DC to AC Power Converter power circuits is those circuits that convert the direct current into an alternating current power. Consequently, extensively employed in many electronic circuits. From small devices to complex circuitry, they are everywhere So, in this article, we will make a simple DC to AC power converter of two kinds. First, by using a single transistor and second by using two transistors. Both the circuits are easy to understand and affordable to make.

For making a circuit, the transformer and transistors are the main components used as the primary component. Here we are using the 2sc5200 high-power NPN transistor. This transistor provides fewer harmonic distortions and a signal-to-noise ratio. Therefore, preferable to use in this circuit.

Working Explanation

When you connect the circuit according to the diagram given above and applied the DC power to it, the transistor 2sc5200 is the high-power NPN transistor, having three outer terminals. The base of this transistor controls the biasing, and the emitter that is connected to the ground drains out the current. Hence, the current flows through the collector which is connected to the transformer wired to step up the voltage. As an outcome, the transformer in the circuit drives the load of this simple inverter.

Applications

  • It can also be used in small circuits that need an AC supply.
  • Also, in low-power AC circuits.
  • To operate some AC devices.

DC to AC Converter using Two Transistors

Now, in this circuit, we will use two transistors to make a converter. Since two transistors are used in this circuit, therefore, the power is twice that of the above circuit of one transistor.

Working Explanation

The circuit working is the same as the single transistor circuit but the output power would be doubled in this case. when the voltage is applied, one transistor works at a time. In other words, when DC voltage is given to the circuit, one of the two transistors goes into the saturation state and forms a close loop, and the current flows until the transformer wired in the circuit reaches its saturation. Now, this transistor gets opened and the second transistor gets closed. The process of these close and open transistors gives the AC power at the output.

Applications

  • The applications are the same as the application of a single transistor converter. But, it can also be used in circuits that need twice the AC power.
