CD4078 belongs to the CD4000 IC series. CD4078 NOR Gate allows the direct use of positive logic 8 input NOR and OR functions. The CD4078 is always available in 14-pin hermetically sealed dual in line (DIP) package. The IC offers a wide array of working voltages and operative conditions. The IC also features low power dissipation and high noise immunity. The output of the IC is always available in TTL, allowing it to have easy interchangeability with MCUs and MPUs.
What is NOR Gate?
A NOR gate is a simple digital logic gate that is constructed by simply connecting a hex inverter with an OR gate. A NOR gate will always yield a logical low if any one of its input is at a logical HIGH. Similarly, a NOR gate will yield a Logical HIGH only when all the inputs to the gate are LOW.
CD4078 Key Features
- Medium-Speed Operation:
tPHL, tPLH = 75 ns (typ.) at VDD = 10 V - Buffered inputs and output
- 5-V, 10-V, and 15-V parametric ratings
- Standardized symmetrical output characteristics
- 100% tested for quiescent current at 20 V
- Maximum input current of 1 µA at 28 V over full package-temperature range:
100 nA at 18 V and 25°C - Noise margin (over full package-temperature range):1 V at VDD = 5 V
- 2 V at VDD = 10 V
- 2.5 V at VDD = 15 V
