In this tutorial, we are making a 12V 5V power supply with the help of a few low-cost components. First, we talk about what is a power supply? A “power supply” is an electrical gadget that provisions electric capacity to an electrical load.
The essential capacity of a power supply is to change over electric flow from a source to the right voltage, flow, and frequency to control the load. Subsequently, power supplies are at times alluded to as electric power converters. Some power supplies are isolated independent bits of “equipment,” while others are incorporated with the “load appliances” that they power.

12V 5V Dual Power Supply Circuit
Working Explanation
In this section, we discuss the circuit of the 12V 5V power supply. This circuit of the power supply is a dual power circuit. The circuit is using two assorted fixed voltage regulator ICs. The central IC is LM7812 which will change over the voltage starting from the transformer and gives a 12V controlled output on pin 1 of the LM7805 IC. The voltage will then be changed over to 5V DC by the LM7805 IC, on account of which you will get two special voltages at the same time. Use suitable heatsinks with the ICs. The transformer can be a 230V or 110V to 15V to 20V 2A.
