The 74LS273 is a part of the 74XXYY IC series. 74LS273 is a high-speed 8-bit register, consisting of eight D-type flip-flops with a common Clock and an asynchronous active LOW Master Reset. This IC comes in a 20-pin package featuring 0.3″ row spacing. The 74LS273 IC has a wide range of working voltage, a wide range of working conditions, and directly interfaces with CMOS, NMOS, and TTL. The information on the D inputs is stored during the LOW to HIGH clock transition. Both true and complemented outputs of each flip-flop are provided. The output of the IC always comes in a Push-Pull configuration which makes it easy to work with other TTL devices and microcontrollers.
What is a D-Type Flip-Flop?
A D-type flip-flop is a clocked flip-flop that has two stable states. A D-type flip-flop operates with a delay in input by one clock cycle. Thus, by cascading many D-type flip-flops delay circuits can be created, which are used in many applications such as in digital television systems. A D-type flip-flop is also known as a D flip-flop or a delay flip-flop.
