A Dual power supply is a regular direct current power supply. It can provide a positive as well as a negative voltage. It ensures a stable power supply to the device as well as helps to prevent system damage. A dual power supply is used to power the electronic as well as electrical equipment. Mainly electronic circuits consist of tubes or transistors and require a DC power source. And when we make a microcontroller-based project +5 volt and GND bias is enough, if we wish to control the stepper motor. But for high voltage geared motors we need a high voltage and dual polarity power supply. Here we design a simple 35-volt Dual power supply with easily available components, it gives –ve 35V as well as +ve 35V.

Working Explanation
As we can see in the circuit, it starts with a step-down transformer (30-0-30V). This step-down transformer converts the higher AC voltages into lower, then this step downed AC supply is rectified through a 6 amps bridge rectifier. This rectifier gives +ve and -ve supply, 0 or GND taken from the center-tapped transformer’s middle terminal. Further, the rectified DC is filtered by capacitors, and the output terminal is connected with a 6 Amps fuse. We can get a +35V-0- -35V dual supply from this circuit.
Applications
- OPAMPS has two rails in order to provide power to the OPAMPS, we need a Dual power supply.
- When we want to run two different power circuits on the same power supply without taking it offline, we need a dual power supply.
- We can use a dual power supply as a cell phone charging circuit, power bank circuit, battery-less power circuit, and also in case of any direct current power supply.
