2 Digit Object/Product Counter

6,857 views

In this DIY project, we are developing a simple object counter circuit. We can say it is a product counter circuit that can be made by utilizing a few hardware components even though we are not using any microcontroller. Shopping malls, industries, and any place where we need to reduce human efforts can use these object counters.

This project is easy to make and require hardware components like ICs, voltage regulator, resistors, capacitor, IR sensors, battery, breadboard, and LEDs.

Object/Product Counter Circuit

Working Explanation

In this circuit, we recognize an object by using an IR sensor and comparator, and afterward, we applied the yield of the comparator to a mono-stable multi-vibrator. This mono-stable multi-vibrator creates a pulse of a fixed timeframe that can be set by using this formula.

T=1.1RC

In the wake of getting a pulse from 555 timer IC, we applied this to the timer pin of 7 segment decoder (U4) and afterward completed the signal (pin 5) to the timer pin of another 7segment decoder (U3). In the wake of getting pulse from 555 timer IC, 7 segment counter changes number values of 7 segment display. Also, when the number comes to 10 in the U4 decoder, then it imparts a complete signal or pulse to the 7segment decoder (U3), and afterward, the second display changes its number value. Also, this cycle rehashes. This object counter circuit can check 00-99.
