In this DIY, we are making an 18 V power supply. This “power supply” will work precisely where you need a stable 18 V DC power supply and gives current up to 1.5 A where you need it. The circuit is utilizing an “LM7818 positive voltage regulator IC.” The” UTC LM78XX family” is a fixed voltage regulator circuit. They are reasonable for applications that necessary required the power supply current 1 A. This IC has many inherent highlights like internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, safe area protection, short circuit protection, and so forth.

Circuit Operation
In this section, we will discuss the circuit operation of the project 18 V Power Supply. In this project, we are using components like a transformer, a diode bridge, capacitors, and LM7818 IC. The 230 V to 18 V 2 A transformer steps down the mains voltage, and the 2A diode bridge modifies the voltage and converts it to DC. The 2200 uF capacitor channels the voltage originating from the bridge diode. A 1N4001 diode is utilized to block feedback to the IC. The “Voltage controller IC” steps down the input voltage and gives 18 V DC output. Utilize a suitable heat sink with the IC.
