When a designer needs to convert DC into AC power, there are several ways to make an inverter. So, we thought why not try making an inverter using a battery of 1.5 Volts? Just, 1.5 volts and we can get 220V Ac at the output. So, maybe the question arises that the circuit then needs a lot of components to boost up the voltage. But, no! the circuit is so simple that it only needs four components. But how? To make this, let’s first understand this 220v AC Simple Inverter.
This 220v AC Simple Inverter uses two major components, the transistor, and the transformer. Hence, the NPN D13003 is employed as the first major component. One of the major reasons for this transistor is that it is stable, and has high-speed capabilities. Also, the cost is very reasonable and it is easily available in the electronics market. For the second major component, a 220V transformer is used. Thus, you can also use the transformer of an old mobile charger.

1.5v To 220v AC Inverter Circuit
Working Explanation
Connect the components according to the given circuit diagram. Patiently see the transformer points and connect them accordingly. When the battery is connected transistor generates the oscillations but, this transistor alone cannot make 220V. Therefore, the transformer is utilized to boost up the voltage. However, the power of this simple inverter is not so high. and, that’s why this circuit cannot be used commercially. It can only be used to produce the maximum AC power of 1watt.
Applications
- It can be used to light up a single bulb or component that requires very little power.
- The electronics students can utilize this circuit in their small projects, having less power.
